Retention Marketing Intern

CleanChoice Energy seeks a dynamic and detail-oriented part time (no more than 20 hours/week) Retention Marketing Intern to help build our brand and customer value proposition. This is an exciting opportunity for the right person, to help build a different kind of Energy Company — one that believes in renewable energy and shares the values of our customers. The right candidate will be a hands-on, data- driven team member who can jump in and support our Retention Marketing team. This position will report to the Retention Marketing Manager. 


  • Create content including blog writing, email copy, blurbs on our wind and solar farms, tips to save energy, and information on how to increase the customer’s environmental impact.
  • Research fun facts and information to share with customers in the renewable energy space including beautiful photos, quotes, and articles.
  • Support marketing programs including renewals, customer onboarding, monthly statements, and referrals in both the digital and print channels.
  • Provide support for quality control and data review of marketing campaigns.
  • Track marketing results.
  • Schedule regular customer interviews.
  • Provide research and analysis on best practices related to current programs.
  • Write/send thank you notes/packages to customers who refer or who need a special touch.
  • Create PowerPoint presentations for team meetings.
  • Conduct competitive analysis.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Knowledge of Excel, Mail Merge and Word
  • Writing and proofing skills
  • Graphics Skills
  • Adobe Skills (Acrobat, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
  • Knowledge of print production process
  • Knowledge of direct marketing
  • Excellent time and project management skills, able to manage multiple projects with varying schedules simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail
  • Robust critical thinking skills
