Marketing Manager - Email, SMS, and Lifecycle

CleanChoice Energy is looking for a detail-oriented and highly motivated Manager, Email, SMS, and Lifecycle Marketing to join the team. This is an exciting opportunity if you're passionate about executing and optimizing email campaigns to drive business growth & value, and making it easy for consumers to choose 100% clean electricity and make a positive impact on the environment. 

 

CleanChoice is a fast-growing certified B Corporation, whose mission is to transform the U.S. electricity market and make clean energy available to everyone. This position will report to the Senior Manager, Email Marketing. 

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Achieve marketing objectives and key results to grow customer count and lifetime value by developing a test and learn email marketing program
  • Effectively manage email programs, staff, and external vendors to meet business goals spanning Clean Energy Option, Clean Electricity, Community Solar, and other products

 

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a business owner of SMS and email marketing programs, strategy, and related analytics & reporting that support the launch of the Clean Energy Option product
  • Build out campaigns and journeys across a variety of lifecycle stages, including triggered and stand-alone communications
  • Work cross-functionally to support business needs across Clean Energy Option, existing, and future products
  • Strategic implementation and management of SMS and email team projects, prioritization, and the development of effective end-to-end email process, e.g. create campaign brief, creative development & approval, build emails using HTML / CSS, QA, send, monitor results, and optimize
  • Act as a subject matter expert, ensure design and templates are responsive, manage email and SMS campaign approval process, adhere to brand guidelines, and follow best practice for conversion, deliverability, and engagement
  • Optimize to scale email and SMS channel growth across products through the development of an effective A/B and multivariate test and learn approach
  • Partner with the MarTech & Automation team to develop compelling, personalized email experiences to nurture prospects and drive conversion throughout the purchase funnel and customer journey
  • Own KPI reporting, including weekly and monthly updates, analyze campaign results, and provide data-driven recommendations to improve programs
  • Work collaboratively across the Marketing, Data Science, Product, Technology, and Operations teams to develop strong, productive relationships with coworkers
  • Stay current on and experiment with new digital and direct response marketing tactics to increase conversions, CLTV, and make it easy for customers to support clean energy
  • Ensure compliance of consumer protection laws (CAN-SPAM, CCPA, TCPA, etc.) and state/utility specific regulatory requirements and disclosures within email and SMS campaigns
  • Gain an understanding of clean electricity, clean energy, and community solar markets
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • You have 5+ years of experience in a relevant role including marketing automation, digital, email, growth, or lifecycle marketing. Experience with SMS marketing is a plus
  • Demonstrated experience driving business value and executing multichannel marketing campaigns through email, SMS, and/or other digital channels in an enterprise Email or Marketing Automation Platform like Braze, SFMC, Marketo or similar
  • You are an effective manager of people, including internal or external resources, to drive program execution and optimization 
  • You make data-driven decisions, have a proven track record for running tests and optimizing campaigns, and clearly communicate results and learnings
  • You have strong creative and copywriting skills and can clearly communicate product benefits and create customer experiences that make an impact
  • You’re proactive, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and can effectively manage multiple tasks and projects with varying schedules simultaneously
  • You work well cross-functionally with internal and external teams
  • You have excellent writing, presentation, and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

 

Bonus Points For

  • Experience with Braze Marketing Automation Platform
  • Ability to translate user journey and digital data insights into action
  • Knowledge of email and SMS best practices to maximize deliverability and conversions 
  • Experience with Segment, Salesforce, or other customer data platform
  • Experience with Agile workflow, JIRA, Trello,  or other product/task management tools
  • Experience with Business Intelligence and Data Visualization tools like Domo
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics to track conversion and measure campaign ROI/ROAS
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM
  • Experience with new product launches and a demonstrated understanding of go-to market best practices
  • Experience in clean energy, solar, or utility categories
  • Passion to make the world a better place through 100% clean electricity and protecting the environment for future generations


Location: Washington, DC preferred, Remote for the right candidate
