Business Process Engineer (BPI Modeler)

About the Role: 

The Business Process Engineer will work with business users to gather and define business requirements, translate the requirements into user stories, process changes and work flows to make the processes that power the company as efficient and resilient as possible. The Business Process Engineer will be responsible for the identification & implementation of automation opportunities. They will also develop process maps and process model documents based on defined business needs. This role will collaborate with technology partners in the design of systems architecture and process functionality.

 

About the Team: 

The Business Process Innovation team sits within the technology org and is a lynchpin between the business teams that own key processes and the technology that enables and defines those processes. This role will be the first member of this team and will be instrumental in defining the tools and technology used by the team. There will be many opportunities to work with business and technology teams across the organization to meaningfully improve the fundamental processes of the business.

 

Key skills and attributes:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for building systems and processes that work well for both humans and machines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially communicating technical concepts in a fashion that can be readily understood by non-technical users
  • Innovative and collaborative worker and thinker
  • Familiarity with process automation (RPA) platforms a plus
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of management, organizational and process design principles
  • Strong experience in business process modeling
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies a plus
  • Ability to prototype to rapidly iterate user-facing solutions using Excel, Google Sheets, AirTable, SmartSheet or other similar software
